It’s been a while, but I’m working on some new and exciting things that I can’t wait to share with everyone. With some rare spring weather on the East Coast I thought it would be fitting to make poppy seed muffins. They are light and fluffy and perfect for breakfast or a quick snack. My … Continue reading

Revisiting a Recipe: Celery and Celeriac Soup with Benedictin Cheese Croutons and Parsnip
As most of you know I studied culinary at George Brown College in Toronto for about a year. While I was there I realized that cooking was not for me and went in another direction. But my year spent there was not wasted; I learned a lot of valuable information about cooking and have an … Continue reading
Happy Holidays: Rum Balls
First of all I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation of Canada’s fundraiser Cook for the Cure. I did not make it to the culinary showdown, but I did raise $110. I can’t believe the Christmas season is already here! Every year I always … Continue reading
Cooking for the Cure: Strawberry Cupcakes
It’s the final day for the Cook for the Cure fundraiser with all the funds going towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. For my final recipe I made Strawberry Cupcakes. Cook for the Cure: Chopped Edition- Steamed Salmon with Warm Cherry Slaw
I’m cooking for the cure again this week, and this time with 3 secret ingredients. My sister and brother-in-law went to the store with one instruction: get 3 pink ingredients. Cook for the Cure: Strawberry Smoothie
This week’s cooking for the cure recipe is a lactose free strawberry smoothie. I’ve substituted the milk for almond milk and added some flaxseeds to give the smoothie some additional nutrients. I’m not a big fan of the taste of flaxseeds, but adding them to the smoothie gets rid of their bitter taste. For more … Continue reading

This year they’re offering Cook for the Cure, a culinary showdown where top fundraisers get the chance to cook along side some … Continue reading
Happy Halloween: Ghost Meringues
Halloween is this week, so I saw it fitting to make some cute ghosts out of meringue. They’re super cute and a breeze to make. I used a French meringue, which is when fine sugar is beaten into room temperature egg whites until it forms stiff peaks. You’ll know you reached stiff peaks when all … Continue reading
